Good morning all. Last night Sheriff Garrett came with a warrant for
Sam Cobra. He is after him you guys. He came out here from Fort Scott.
He's on Sams trail. He's asking all kinds of questions. I took him
around to some of the places were Sam was. He didn't even care that it
was pouring down rain. After he gets done here he told me he's back
on the trail and what ever it takes he will catch up to Sam Cobra.

So Sam, watch out.

Greg

Billy the Kid has been shot!

News Flash:

In his quest to find Runaway Sam Cobra, Sheriff Pat Garrett has been moving around the country, interrogating witnesses, capturing some of Sam's various comrades in crime, and trying to catch the evil renegade . . .

During his time here in Indiana, the Sheriff has been VERY busy, as will be reported by Pat Garrett himself as he leaves town. For now, it is enough
to say that he has gathered a lot of evidence and captured some key outlaws
who might put him on the right trail.

The Sheriff has been going around to the various ranches in the area, gathering information. The Colonel, a former Confederate officer, and his daughters reported a whole herd of cattle lost to rustlers in recent weeks. Don Carlos, whose hacienda is part of an old Spanish land grant that goes back to the earliest history of the area, had his vaqueros and his lovely daughters entertain Pat Garrett after telling him about a whole herd of
fine horses that were stolen. On and on it went . . .

Then, Pat Garrett stopped to talk to Pete Maxwell, whose daughter is supposedly a love interest of the notorious Billy the Kid. Rumor has it that Billy helped Sam Cobra rob the stage. Anyway, the Sheriff arrived late and found Pete in bed. They are old friends, so Pete told him to come on in. Pat sat down on the edge of Pete's bed to ask him about the outlaws he's been tracking. Just then, Billy the Kid walked into the room, carrying a knife he had been using to slice some meat out on the porch. Coming into the dark room, he realized someone was there and he cried out, "Quien es? Quien es?" Sheriff Garrett didn't waste a second--he pulled his pistol and shot Billy the Kid!

This should guarantee the Sheriff a place in the annals of the West, but he
still hasn't caught Sam Cobra--THAT will be the biggest achievement in his long career, IF he can do it!

Wait . . . word just in . . . the Sheriff has caught Gunfighter Ellen, who was
Sam's girlfriend while he was here! Apparently, she was playing poker in
the Wild Horse saloon when the Sheriff unexpectedly dropped in to interrogate Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, and others who had played cards with Sam when he was spending his evenings there. Ellen tried to slip away and she almost made it to her horse in a nearby corral, but Sheriff Garrett and
a helpful deputy got the drop on her and she is now in the local hoosegow.
My sources tell me that the Sheriff is interrogating her now, with the
help of other lawmen.

Maybe these developments will help the Sheriff figure out which way to
go from here . . .

Sheriff Pat Garrett officially swore in his new deputy today in a short ceremony here in Indiana. Despite some reservations, the good lawman decided that he needs every last bit of help he can get, so Indy Jones will be joining him on his chase of Runaway Sam Cobra when the "train" pulls out on Monday.

When asked for comments, Sheriff Garrett noted that his new helper "has real
potential, let's just leave it at that."

Indy Jones has a vintage Johnny West head and a reissue Custer body and carries only a reissue silver cavalry pistol and a pair of handcuffs. The Sheriff hopes that Ranchers they encounter during future visits will donate all of the help and equipment they can to outfit both Garrett and his new deputy.

One bystander observed that there might be a number of reasons why Garrett seems so reluctant to take along a sidekick. "Maybe he wants all of the glory of
catching Sam Cobra for himself," opined a slightly inebriated lawyer who witnessed the swearing-in ceremony this afternoon. "Of course, it might be that Garrett is worried about this new guy, especially since that name seems so fake and there IS the fact that Jones keeps talking to himself all of the time." When
asked what the deputy says when he talks to himself, the attorney said,
"He keeps muttering, "Gotta kill Cobra, gotta kill Cobra, Gotta kill Cobra!""

Nevertheless, the Sheriff now has a deputy to help him out on his quest.

The saga continues.

Hey Ranchers,

Another update from the Midwestern Hideout in Indiana . . .

As Sheriff Pat Garrett was preparing to leave town, he was approached by Gunfighter Ellen's lawyer, who wanted to cut a deal for her. After some tough negotiating, they agreed on the terms. Basically, what it means is that, in exchange for all of that valuable information she provided to the law about Sam Cobra and other outlaws in the area, Gunfighter Ellen has been freed. Apparently, the local law enforcement officials didn't want to have to bring her to trial, but they didn't want her operating in the area anymore. She was let out of jail, given back her pearl-handled revolver, and temporarily released into the Sheriff's custody. The terms of her deal require that she leave town with Garrett.

From inside sources, I've learned that Ellen really wants to find Sam Cobra.
Some people think she wants to kill him because he broke her heart and left her behind when the posse closed in on the two of them. Others think she is still in love with Sam and wants to reconcile. Whatever the case, she has joined Sheriff Garrett and his new deputy, Indy Jones, on their search for the Runaway Renegade.

Howdy Ranchers,

Great news from Rochester, after 35 days on the road without a word, Sheriff Garrett finally arrived! How's that for priority mail?!?!?!

Whew! Much relief on my part, as I was ready to replace him and his
little posse . . .

I'm looking forward to your report, Tom, to see how the lawman does
up there. Has Cobra's trail gone completely cold? Will Gunfighter Ellen and the new deputy prove to be loyal to the Sheriff or are they working on their own agendas? Will the posse EVER catch up with that renegade? And what about poor Jane?

Bruno (and all other ranchers, to keep you in the loop),

Stony and I picked up on your post, and alerted Sheriff Garret and the
rest of the posse. They've packed their gear, made their travel
arrangements, and are now on their way up to the great white North! We
originally were going to send them up on a Hercules from the Joe Team,
but then thought better, what with Canada being a sovereign nation and
all .....

Before they left, Mike Hazzard presented the team with his secret agent
bulletproof vest, to help counter that machine gun that Sam stole while
here. But he only had the one, so we'll all have to hope that Sam
doesn't get the jump on everyone, or it could be a real bloodbath.

Please let me know when the posse arrives, and good luck with the
capture of Renegade Sam!

and Stony Smith, Chief of Security
