I got to Kevin's this afternoon but he didn't get home until 8:30 so I
had to stay in the box until then.
I met Kevin's little guy Nate, & his "Indian Max Steel."
Daniel Boone came by to see me. He & I took a look around outside, snow
was knee deep so we didn't stay out to long. We went back to his camp.
He had shot a turkey earlier on in the day so we roasted the turkey &
some potatoes along with some STRONG!! Coffee. Two guys came by they said
they had just arrived from some place called eBay. One of the fellows
was a knight, boy that fellow has a lot of metal clothes, nice fellow
had a big knife & he kinda talked funny.
The
other guy was an Indian dressed in cowboy clothes, I guess he is gonna
help out with the horses. He had a big flintlock like Daniel's. They showed
up with May & we had coffee with them. They left & Daniel & I bedded down
for the night under bearskin rugs. I slept like a rock.
P.S.
Ever notice Daniel stands up a lot?

Boy it's a cold morning. Wind chill here is between -5 and -15 degrees.
Cold is not the word for what it is here. Not able to do much today. Went
to work with Kevin today. We got stuck in a drift, it took us about 20
minutes to get out. Best part of the day today was breakfast. Daniel fixed
eggs & bacon. Well, I'm beat - off to sleep

Met
some interesting guys today!! I got to meet Teddy Roosevelt. He was a
President & a Rough Rider. I really enjoyed meeting him. Another fellow
I met today was John F. Kennedy, nice fellow, another guy that spoke funny.
He was in the Navy & got his ship the 'PT 109' destroyed, he helped his
men get to safety. Later he became a President. I got to see his coconut
that he carved a message on to have delivered to secure his rescue. Today
I also got to meet 2 Medal of Honor winners. Mitchell Paige, he saved
his men in WWII by moving a machine gun around all night fighting the
Japanese. He let me fire his machine gun, that sucker can rock. The second
winner I met was Audie Murphy. He was also in WWII, he was in Europe fighting
Germans. He was promoted to 2nd LT & then he became an actor starring
in the movie of his life. Did you know he was from Texas? Well, long day
- off to bed - PS They gave me a nice WWII M1 rifle, (said it was good
for shooting varmints on the ranch.)

Today
Daniel, Charlie Two Horses & myself went deer hunting. Daniel said we
should all use flintlocks, so I agreed & borrowed his extra one. WE found
the deer. They let me have the first shot & they were on either side just
in case I misses. Well boys & girls, let me tell you they didn't need
to fire their guns!! We ate well that night. |

Some of the fellows came by to go out to eat & have a few beers. They
took me to a place called Hooters. Good chicken wings & great service.
Best not say anymore about the night, lest I get in trouble from my beloved.

Pat Garrett came by today, he gave me a pistol seems some rowdy cowboy
was shooting up the town. He said I'd need it more especially since I
was heading into 'Packer' country.
Went
into South Haven with Kevin. South Haven is the Blueberry Capital of the
world. More blueberries are grown in that area than any place else. Kevin
lives less than a mile from a major blueberry plantation, they ain't much
to look at this time of year (the bushes).
We
went to the blueberry store where I got Robin some blueberry salsa. I
got Jane some blueberry candy. I do miss her. Then we went to the Armory
@ South Haven, I saw the tank Kevin used when he was just a young 1st
LT. Now it's a monument tank, that tells you how old he is.
Well
it's time for bed, Night All - Johnny

Last day here, heading over the big water to see Robin
Went
down to the lake today, collected some shell & rocks from the beach to
give to Jane (the rocks are for her rock garden)
It
was really windy & the water was really cold. Never saw that much fresh
water in all my life. Went to brunch with Kevin & a coworker, then went
to see a few sights in Bangor MI.
Before
I left, Kevin gave me a Detroit Lions shirt. He said I'd need it where
I was going (Packer Land). It was fun in MI, now I'm off to see the rest
of the world! - Johnny
